Katherine Steichen Rosing’s quiet rhythmic paintings of forests and patterns of water are created using texture and color to explore cycles of transformation, growth, and decay. A textured relief surface is created as part of the underpainting and then the painting is developed in many layers, encouraging the interaction of pigment and texture.
